Forests

“If on the one hand the wood becomes the sacred place of divinity, of the full, profound, almost “mystical” knowledge of the mysteries of life and its cycles, on the other it could be considered the realm of the unknown, a sort of primordial cradle that he knows neither civilization nor his sophisticated conventions. These magical, threatening but seductive places are investigated by Morales in the Forests series. Rather than visitable or visited places, these are the places of our mind, of its most hidden component, remaining to be harnessed by the structures of civilization. Rediscovering this most authentic and imaginative part of ourselves is the first step towards what is most urgently required by our time: a rethinking of the relationship between man and nature.” C.
